What we expect from Apple iPad3

Speculation about the next version of Apple's bestselling tablet has begun to abate somewhat, which means that rumor mongers have more or less reached accord on what they think the next-generation iPad will look like. Here's the consensus.

Display
There's little debate that the iPad 3 will have a drop-dead gorgeous display. Most Apple watchers agree that the 9.7-inch panel will be QXGA quality--2048 by 1536 pixels with 270 pixels per inch--and will carry the "Retina" name. To maintain that level of brightness, the tablet will have to incorporate two LED bars. Current iPads have only one bar. Since a tablet computer isn't much more than a screen, it seems a safe bet that Apple will be taking the iPad 3's display to another level to advance its position as the leader in the tablet market.
Processor
A new processor is also certainly in the cards for the iPad 3. Competing products with very muscular chips will be appearing on the market this year, so the next-generation Apple slate will need more than just a pretty display to stay ahead of the pack nipping at its heels. Though observers agree that the new processor will be called the A-6, opinion diverges on whether it will be a quad-core chip or a souped-up dual-core offering. Since quad-core processors are becoming more and more common in mobile devices, though, it would be a letdown to many people if the iPad 3 turned out to be a dual-core product.

Google launches Search plus Your World, merges Google+ results into main search

Google has launched ' Search plus Your World' service that allows users to see personalised search results, including their friends in the social network Google+, as well as people, pages and profiles in the network. The new service, however, only works when the users are logged in to their Google account. After launching the Search plus Your World option, a new button will appear on the search result page, which will allow users to toggle between results from the web and the new option.

Announcing the new Google service, Google Fellow Amit Singhal on the official Google blog says, “Search is still limited to a universe of webpages created publicly, mostly by people you’ve never met. Today, we’re changing that by bringing your world, rich with people and information, into search”.

“These wonderful people and this rich personal content is currently missing from your search experience. You should also be able to find your own stuff on the web, the people you know and things they’ve shared with you, as well as the people you don’t know but might want to... all from one search box.”

According to Singhal, the change would help Google transform into a search that “understands not only content, but also people and relationships”. The new Your Wo Read More...

Apple redesigned iPhone to be launched in fall 2012

As Apple's 2012 product launch cycle draws closer, rumours about what new we can expect from the company are beginning to pick up steam. The latest rumour is a redesigned iPhone, which is likely to be launched in fall in 2012.

According to BGR, the redesigned iPhone will have an aluminium back panel, like we have for the iPad. Moreover, the redesigned iPhone will probably have a complete new antenna system. Also, the phone is likely to have a bezel, composed of either rubber or plastic, very much like the iPhone 3GS. The rumoured device is also likely to have a larger display around 4-inches.

It's notable that the current generation iPhone 4S was launched later than the normal Apple product launch cycle, instead of the company's traditional June/July launch, the 4S arrived in September this year. However, if the report is to believed, the rumoured device is likely to maintain Apple's traditional one-year gap between device launches.

The BGR report however does not refer to the new Apple device as the iPhone 5, though several other media reports have dubbed it so. The rumours of a redesigned iPhone comes in the backdrop of reports of iPad 3, which is speculated to be launched on February 24, 2012 in honour of Steve Jobs's birthday. Another set of rumours had suggested that Apple is prepping a mini-iPad in view of competition from 7-inch tablets like the Kindle Fire, and smartphone-tablet hybrids, like t Read More...
